Oklee Area Veteran's Memorial Park
Oklee
is proud to exhibit the Oklee Area Veteran's Memorial Park located on
State Highway 222, south of the school. Fundraising for this project
began in May, 2006 and through donations in memory and in honor of
veterans, general donations and through corporate sponsorship and local
fundraising, the monument became a reality in the fall of
2007.
The Oklee Area Veteran's Memorial Park honors all area veterans who have
served our country in war and peace. It includes a granite monument
with an inscription of appreciation for the services of our veterans and
three flags representing our nation, our state and a POW/MIA flag. A
paver-stone walkway will have names of those veterans for whom a
contribution has been made to honor them individually by name.
Future plans include landscaping, a shelter and a gathering place for
ceremonies.
Oklee Centennial
Oklee is planning a centennial celebration! Plans are now underway
for the 100 year birthday celebration of Oklee occurring July 2-4,
